Ep. #102 - Physician, Scientist and Writer Dr. Adjoa Smalls-Mantey Seeks to Empower You By Providing Information About Health, Wellness and Mental Illness

My guest is Dr. Adjoa Smalls-Mantey, a physician, scientist and writer whose passion is to empower people by sharing information about health, wellness and mental illness.  Dr. Smalls, as she likes to be called for short, knew that she wanted to be a scientist and study infectious diseases from when she was young.  She accomplished her dream of becoming a scientist and then went on to medical school where she studied to be a psychiatrist. She shares her daily challenges of working in the emergency room as an emergency psychiatrist and the hope she instills in her patients that life will indeed be better.  She recently co-authored a wonderful children’s book titled Anjali the Brave – All About Vaccines.  It is beautifully illustrated and gives the history of how vaccines originated and what they do in the human body.  She is also certified in lifestyle medicine and gives us some tips on living a healthy and balanced life.
