Ep. #84 - Author Sherrie Barch’s Children’s Book Helps Families and Others Deal With Loss in a Natural and Productive Way to Bring Healing

Author Sherrie Barch has a very accomplished professional resume in the areas of leadership and team development.  Born and raised in Illinois, she earned B.A. and M.A. degrees in communication and has been the CEO of two Forbes’ ranked top executive search firms and leadership consulting companies.  Our focus will be on her children’s book titled Heaven’s Bell, which is a fictional story about the friendship between two children and what happens after one of them dies and goes to heaven.  The story helps both children and adults deal with the often-avoided subjects of death and the resulting loss and pain we suffer.  Most of us have personally suffered loss in our families and communities, whether due to the Covid pandemic or other illnesses and tragedies.  Also, the news often depicts mass killings, including most recently of elementary school children.  How do we talk about death, especially with our children, and bring healing? How do we talk about it with adults?  Our discussion will give you hope that there is so much we can accomplish and many breakthroughs we can achieve by talking and sharing rather than avoiding and fearing.   Her book is a very helpful tool that is being used not only by families, but also by hospices and school districts to discuss death and to bring healing.  She also has an accompanying grief journal and memory book titled Ring to Remember.
